Kosher Wines

Not all Israeli wines are kosher and not all kosher wines are Israeli.

For a wine to be kosher, thus allowing it to be consumed by observant Jews following the Jewish dietary laws, the winemaking process – harvesting, fermentation, ageing and bottling – has to be overseen by the relevant bodies in the country. This comes at a cost and is why kosher wines tend to be more expensive that non-kosher wines. Notwithstanding this, the process of making wine is the same for both kosher and non-kosher wines. There is absolutely no organoleptic or quality difference.
